Chalean EXtreme!!
I completed the 1 burn circuit today! My back and forearms are tight and the maximum weight I used was 2 17lb dumbbells. The clutch behind the workout is the "extreme" mode in which you do three long, slow, and grueling reps to build up resistance and rescuplt your muscles. I can't review this fairly because I have only done this once. My arms are sore but, I felt like the 35 minutes of the burn circuit didn't have enough sets. This disc, which is part of a collection of workouts by Chalean, focused mostly on deltoids and back muscles. If I must say so, I am more of an ab and lower body girl. Do I think I burned enough calories to have a burger or a beer? No, but I did build muscle in my arms and I do think this workout system is great for someone with low muscle tone or losing weight because it gives you a workbook and a calender to track you effort.
In summation, I like the fact it has more of a body building theme and I will try the next circuit. As I, personally, am not looking to slim down but to maintain my weight, keep an athletic body, and tone up it was suitable. I think people can get the results it promises but, you have to bring it all to the table! You must increase the amount of lbs your lifting and that takes serious work! If you like to mix up and keep your workout schedule fresh it might not be a good program because most of the workouts have the same warm-up and set-up. Therefore, this could easily become a tedious workout. I'll let you know how I feel about this after a couple more workouts.
